Colovore is founded

Colovore is founded by Sean Holzknecht, Peter Harrison, and Ben Coughlin.

2013

Groundbreaking: Santa Clara (SJC01)

Colovore breaks ground on their first all-liquid-cooled facility at 1101 Space Park in Santa Clara, CA.

2014

In Operation: Santa Clara (SJC01)

Phase 1 of 1101 Space Park is commissioned and begins operation.

2017-2018

Santa Clara (SJC01): Phases 2 & 3

Phases 2 and 3 add critically needed capacity to support Silicon Valley HPC workloads and novel hardware designed for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

2024

King Street Acquires Colovore

Colovore partners with King Street and embarks on a rapid expansion delivering liquid-cooled data center capacity across US.

2024

Rapid Expansion

Launches second Silicon Valley data center SJC02, a Reno facility RNO01, and announces Chicago and Texas locations.

Mar 2025

Groundbreaking: Reno (RNO01)

Colovore breaks ground on its Reno campus, purpose-built for ultra-high-density, liquid-cooled AI infrastructure to support production-scale deployments.

Apr 2025

Jeff Springborn Appointed CEO

Jeff Springborn is appointed CEO, bringing deep experience scaling infrastructure and technology platforms as Colovore enters its next phase of growth.

Groundbreaking: Chicago (ORD01)

Construction begins on Colovore’s Chicago campus, expanding high-density AI infrastructure capacity into a key enterprise market.

Jan 2026

Reno (RNO01) Fully Committed (16 MW)

All 16 MW of capacity at RNO01 is fully committed ahead of delivery, reflecting strong demand for high-density, liquid-cooled AI infrastructure.

Feb 2026

Chicago (ORD01) Fully Committed (6 MW)

The first 6 MW of capacity at ORD01 is committed, validating demand for metro-edge AI infrastructure in the Midwest.

Jeff Springborn

Chief Executive Officer

Jeffrey Springborn brings over two decades of leadership in data center infrastructure, cloud services, and high-performance computing to his role as CEO of Colovore. With a proven track record of scaling technology businesses, he has held executive positions including President at LightEdge and CEO at Colovore. Jeffrey has successfully led organizations through acquisitions, fundraising efforts, and significant growth phases. His strategic vision and deep expertise in compliance, go-to-market planning, and investor relations have been instrumental in positioning Colovore at the forefront of high-density, liquid-cooled data center solutions tailored for AI and HPC workloads.​

Sean Holzknecht

President & Co-Founder

Sean has been leading and managing colocation facilities and data centers in the Bay Area since 1997. Prior to co-founding Colovore, Sean was VP of Operations at Evocative, Inc, a leading retail colocation provider in the Bay Area and winner of numerous Inc. 5000 awards for its impressive growth. Sean ran all day-to-day sales and operations activities. Prior to Evocative, Sean founded and ran Emerytech Data Center, and served as Western Region Operations Manager for both Navisite and Colo.com. Sean started his career at Pacific Bell, managing multiple central offices in San Francisco.

Joe Hegstrom

Chief Financial Officer

Joe leads Colovore’s finance organization, covering treasury, FP&A, accounting, tax, insurance, and risk, and also oversees human resources. He joined in 2024 after 17+ years in data center infrastructure, having served increasingly senior finance roles at CyrusOne and Digital Realty. Joe began his career at PwC in San Jose, where he built a foundation in audit and advisory. With deep domain insight into high-density, liquid-cooled deployments for AI and accelerated compute, Joe’s mission is to mesh financial discipline with the technical demands of tomorrow’s infrastructure—helping Colovore scale boldly, but sustainably.

Loan Gordon

Chief Marketing Officer

Loan leads go-to-market strategy, brand development, and demand generation for the company’s ultra-high-density, liquid-cooled AI data centers. With 25 years of experience driving growth for technology and infrastructure companies, she shapes Colovore’s market narrative around AI infrastructure leadership and the urgent need for future-proof, sustainable capacity. Loan combines deep business acumen with a focus on clarity, impact, and acceleration—positioning Colovore at the forefront of the AI data center revolution.

Mike Fulkerson

Vice President, Facilities & Operations

Mike is a seasoned data center operations and construction leader with 15+ years of experience delivering scalable, high-density, AI-ready infrastructure. At Colovore, he oversees data center facilities, design, engineering, construction, and operations, driving modernization and operational excellence across the company’s data centers. Previously, Mike spent nearly a decade at Equinix, advancing through strategic roles in global operations, construction, and real estate as the company grew from 105 to 225 data centers worldwide. He began his career at Future Communications Management, managing installations for wholesale operators like Digital Realty.

Peter Rosenbaum

Vice President, Real Estate Acquisitions

Peter oversees site sourcing, market evaluation, and acquisitions to drive the company’s strategic growth. He brings over 18 years of experience in data center real estate, most recently with Digital Realty, where he helped build its global portfolio. He has acquired more than $4 billion in assets and 800+ acres of development land, leading major transactions and joint ventures. His deep expertise in market and site analysis, financial structuring, and large-scale campus development is instrumental in supporting Colovore’s growth.

Tomasz Mackowiak

Vice President, Product Strategy and Business Development

Tomek drives the company’s technical vision and product roadmap, overseeing the design and delivery of infrastructure solutions that enable customers to deploy the world’s most advanced AI systems at scale. A recognized authority in AI infrastructure design and optimization, Tomek’s expertise spans high-performance computing architectures, accelerator platforms such as NVIDIA, Cerebras, and Groq, and the engineering disciplines required to deliver reliable power and cooling for multi-megawatt deployments.

Mai Pham

Head of People

Mai is a strategic HR leader with over a decade of experience guiding startups and global organizations through periods of rapid growth and transformation. She has built and scaled people operations from the ground up, partnering with executives to design and implement high-impact talent, culture, and organizational strategies. Known for her hands-on approach and global perspective, Mai has led HR teams across North America, Europe, and Asia, delivering programs that align people, performance, and business success.

Brian Higgins

Chairman of the Board

Brian Higgins is the Co-Founder, Managing Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager of King Street. He is based in New York and is the Chair of the Management Committee, Global Investment Committee and Real Estate Investment Committee, and a member of the Risk Committee and the Operating Committee. Prior to co-founding King Street in 1995, Brian worked at First Boston in the Special Situations Fund and the Distressed Securities Group. Brian began his career in 1987 with First Boston’s Merchant Banking Group. Brian received a B.S. in Business Administration from Villanova University.

Mark Van Zandt

Board Member

Mark Van Zandt is a Managing Director on the US Real Estate team at King Street. He is based in New York and is a member of the Real Estate Investment Committee. Prior to joining King Street in 2022, Mark was a Managing Partner of BGO and the Portfolio Manager for BGO’s US Value-Add Funds. Before joining BGO’s predecessor, GreenOak, Mark held investment roles at Morgan Stanley and LaSalle Bank. Mark received a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Sharin Valia

Board Member

Sharin Valia is a Director on the Capital Markets team at King Street. He is based in Palo Alto. Prior to joining King Street in 2021, Sharin was a Partner and Co-Founding Member at Structural Capital, where he provided equity and growth capital loans to later stage technology companies. Prior to Structural Capital, he held roles at Goldman Sachs, Silver Lake Sumeru and TriplePoint Capital. Sharin holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, College of Business.
